Today Jill and I went to Birch Bay to visit Kay.

It was a beautiful day and we laughed all the way.
What can I say...I think all we did was eat and play.

Pastries and Poodles

Today I started to make a "Sweet Treat" Display at the shop and realized that I needed to attempt to make a cake to pull it all together. I used this tag from a collection of adorable pastry tags we carry as my inspiration.

After I made the cake I couldn't stop and whipped up party favors for a Poodle Party. I've always loved vintage poodle graphics and today I bought this great vintage wrapping paper.

I made a party hat...

Then I made party favors and pulled out some cute napkins I've been saving...

I was even able to use my use my vintage chenille poodles...

It's time to Party with Oodles of Poodles...

Bright and Cheery

I have a small collection of enamel flower pins. Over the years I've always loved wearing them because they are such a fun and happy accessory.

Today I was so excited to find this great necklace at Forever 21. It's kind of bright but I like it...

U-Pick

Strawberries at Joyworks.

Tonight I played with some vintage strawberry fabric and made a quick pillow for a wicker chair and a fun banner. They'll both be cute in a new summer display at the store.

Pretty Pages

I found this vintage book on wild flowers at my husband's family cabin.

Every page in the book had great pictures and descriptions of wild flowers. I had a hard time taking it apart because it's probably more valuable as a book... but I knew that the pages would be great for collage.

This week we received in a shipment of cute botanical prints. In my display I simply placed the pages on the shelves and behind the pictures. I loved how it turned out...

The pretty pages of the book are now on display for all to see instead of sitting in book form in my studio...okay now I don't feel so guilty...
